When we went into lockdown I started making videos by reaching out to longtime internet friends and recording chats about history.
Here a long running series about the Russian Army in 1812 kicks off with the ever engaging Jimmy S Chen of Napoleonic Impressions.
Plenty more where that came from! Like and Subscribe folks!
Hi Josh)
You have great content and great site) I am Russian, historian by education and I can say that Count Rostopchin was never Francophile, as Chen says, on the contrary he always disliked French. A lot of documents reflecting his activity as a Moscow commander-in-chief have been preserved. On his orders, practically, before Boni entered Moscow, all the fire pipes were taken out. This order, I think, was even published, here in Russia.
Regards Vladimir.
